Zoya: Farhan Is More Popular For His Looks Than Filmmaking
Now, that's a revelation that Farhan Akhtar would have definitely not expected coming from his younger sister, Zoya Akhtar
Karan Johar has managed to get three of the most popular filmmakers of the current era come together for a candid chat on the next episode of Koffee With Karan. Imtiaz Ali, Kabir Khan and Zoya Akhtar spoke about various aspects of filmmaking and the kind of oppression they faced from people around, when they began their journey as directors. They even let out a lot of secrets which no one knew before.
In one of those candid confessions Zoya opened up about her brother, Farhan Akhtar's, filmmaking skills. Check out the video:
It so happened that KJo asked Zoya as to what she thought Farhan was most popular for. Without batting an eyelid, she said, "I would say, his looks." Now, before anyone else could point it out, she self realized what a foot in the mouth statement she had delivered. She quickly changed her answer to 'filmmaking' and said Farhan would kill her if he got to know her original answer.
Well, that's the sort of honesty you get when you have two siblings immensely close to each other.
Moving on, Kabir went on to confess that he found getting producers for first film, Kabul Express (2006) very difficult because everyone thought he was a documentary filmmaker and that in itself was considered a ‘bad’ word in the film industry.

In a rapid fire set up when the three were asked to give the meaning of a few Urdu words, Zoya failed miserably and KJo mocked her by saying, "Welcome daughter of Javed Akhtar" to which Zoya could only retort, "My father would disown me."
Also, neither of them could name three movies where Shah Rukh Khan was called Rahul. Well, SRK's name maybe iconic, but these three definitely didn't know it and laughed off the question.
